Overview
The SN65C3232D is a dual-channel RS-232 line driver and receiver designed for low-power communications. It operates from a wide supply range of 3V to 5.5V and features an internal charge pump to generate the required RS-232 voltage levels using only four 0.1 uF external capacitors. This transceiver supports high-speed data rates up to 1 Mbit/s while maintaining a typical supply current of only 300 uA.

Ensure the logic-side pins (DIN/ROUT) are connected to your MCU UART while the bus-side pins (DOUT/RIN) connect to the RS-232 connector. For prototyping, this SOIC-16 package can be used with standard 1.27mm pitch breakout boards.
