Overview

The SPIRIT1QTR is an ultra-low power Sub-1GHz RF transceiver designed for high-performance wireless applications in the 150MHz to 956MHz bands. It features a high sensitivity of -118dBm and a flexible radio front-end that supports various modulation schemes including 2FSK, GFSK, and OOK. This device is optimized for long battery life, consuming as little as 9mA in receive mode and 0.6uA in standby.

Why Choose This Part

It offers exceptional link budget performance with +16dBm output power and -118dBm sensitivity while maintaining ultra-low current consumption. The integrated programmable features like CRC, hardware packet handling, and an automatic acknowledgment system reduce the processing load on the host microcontroller.

Applications

Smart Grid and AMR
Ideal for automated meter reading and smart grid infrastructure requiring long-range communication and low power consumption.
Home and Building Automation
Used in wireless alarm systems, lighting control, and HVAC monitoring where reliable Sub-1GHz penetration is required.
Industrial Monitoring
Suitable for wireless sensor networks (WSN) and asset tracking in industrial environments using various ISM bands.

Getting Started

Designers can evaluate the chip using the STEVAL-IKR002V family of evaluation boards. Firmware development is supported by the STSW-CONNECT009 Spirit1 SDK, which provides drivers and examples for interfacing with STM32 microcontrollers via the SPI interface.

Also Consider

S2-LPQTR STMicroelectronics - The S2-LP is the successor to the SPIRIT1, offering improved power efficiency and Sigfox compatibility.
SX1262IMLTRT Semtech - Consider this if LoRa modulation is required for significantly longer range at the expense of complexity.
