Overview

The STM32WL31CBV6 is a highly integrated ultra-low-power wireless SoC featuring an Arm Cortex-M0+ core and a sub-GHz radio. Designed for efficiency, it supports long-range communication protocols like Sigfox and Zigbee in the 413-479MHz and 868-958MHz frequency bands. This SoC provides 128KB of Flash and 16KB of RAM in a compact 48-VFQFN package for space-constrained IoT deployments.

Why Choose This Part

This SoC integrates the MCU and sub-GHz radio on a single die, reducing overall BOM cost and PCB footprint. It features advanced security including a secure bootloader and AES-128 hardware acceleration, while maintaining a very low shutdown current of 14uA.

Applications

Smart Utility Metering
Enables long-range reporting for water, gas, and electricity meters with multi-year battery life.
Building Automation
Ideal for KNX-compliant environmental sensors, smoke detectors, and HVAC control systems.
Industrial IoT
Connects remote field sensors to gateways using low-power wide-area network protocols.
Asset Tracking
Supports ultra-low power states for periodic location reporting in logistics and supply chain monitoring.
