STM32WL3RK8V6
Overview
The STM32WL3RK8V6 is a highly integrated sub-GHz wireless System-on-Chip (SoC) combining an Arm Cortex-M0+ core running at 64 MHz with a multi-protocol radio. It supports a wide range of modulations including 2(G)FSK, 4(G)FSK, OOK, ASK, and D-BPSK across the 413-479 MHz and 826-958 MHz bands. This device is optimized for ultra-low power consumption, featuring a high-efficiency SMPS and power modes as low as 0.377 uA in standby.
Why Choose This Part
This SoC eliminates the need for an external RF transceiver, reducing BOM cost and PCB footprint in a 32-VFQFN package. It provides a high output power of 20 dBm and a sensitivity of -132 dBm, ensuring robust links over long distances. The integrated AES-128 hardware accelerator and secure bootloader provide essential security for IoT endpoints.

Getting Started
Developers can start with the STM32CubeWL software package, which includes the hardware abstraction layer (HAL) and radio stacks. Hardware evaluation is typically performed using the NUCLEO-WL33CC development board. Projects are managed through STM32CubeIDE, which provides integrated tools for configuration, code generation, and power consumption analysis.
