STUSB4500
Overview
The STUSB4500 is a standalone USB Type-C and Power Delivery (PD) sink controller designed to negotiate power from a source without requiring an external microcontroller. It supports up to three Power Data Object (PDO) profiles and includes an auto-run mode to facilitate dead-battery charging, making it ideal for converting legacy barrel-jack devices to USB-C power.
Why Choose This Part
It eliminates the need for firmware development by storing PDO configurations in non-volatile memory (NVM). The device offers high integration with internal VBUS monitoring and PMOS gate drivers, and its wide supply range of 4.1V to 22V allows direct operation from the negotiated VBUS rail.
Applications
Key Specifications
Getting Started
Evaluation can be performed using the STEVAL-ISC005V1 expansion board. Developers can configure the NVM parameters via the I2C interface using the STUSB4500 graphical user interface software to define custom power profiles and boot behaviors.
