Overview

The TBD62083APG is an 8-channel DMOS transistor array designed for high-voltage and high-current switching applications. It serves as a modern, high-efficiency replacement for older bipolar Darlington arrays, providing a peak output voltage of 50V and a continuous output current of 0.5A per channel. Each output includes an integrated clamp diode, making it ideal for driving inductive loads like relays and motors.

Why Choose This Part

The DMOS architecture significantly reduces power dissipation and leakage current compared to traditional bipolar arrays, with a standby current of only 1.0uA at 85C. Its 18-DIP through-hole package allows for easy prototyping and robust mounting in harsh environments. The wide input voltage range up to 30V ensures compatibility with various logic levels and control circuits.

Applications

Relay Driving
Switching multiple 12V or 24V electromechanical relays in industrial control systems.
Stepper Motor Control
Driving the phases of small unipolar stepper motors used in office automation and robotics.
LED Matrix Driving
Controlling high-power LED arrays or segments that require current sinking up to 500mA.
Solenoid Control
Actuating pneumatic valves and solenoids in automated machinery using the internal flyback diodes.

Getting Started

To use this device, connect the GND pin to your system ground and the COM pin to your load supply voltage for inductive flyback protection. Ensure the total power dissipation of the 18-DIP package is not exceeded when driving multiple channels simultaneously at 500mA. Since it is a sink-driver (low-side switch), connect the load between the positive supply and the TBD62083APG output pins.
