TITLC59116IPWR
Overview
The TLC59116IPWR is an I2C-controlled 16-channel LED driver designed for high-density LED applications. Each of its 16 outputs can be independently dimmed via individual 8-bit PWM controllers, and a global 8-bit PWM allows for group dimming or blinking. It operates from a supply voltage of 3V to 5.5V and supports output voltages up to 17V for driving longer LED strings.
Why Choose This Part
This driver features a high current capability of up to 120mA per channel and integrated open-load and overtemperature detection for system reliability. It includes a noise filter on SCL/SDA lines and supports hot insertion, making it suitable for modular systems where live swapping may occur.

Getting Started
To begin development, connect the TLC59116 to an I2C host such as an MCU or FPGA using 2.2k ohm pull-up resistors on the bus lines. Set the external resistor (Rext) to calibrate the maximum constant-current output per channel according to the desired brightness levels. Use the active-low RESET pin to clear all internal registers and initialize the device after power-up.
