Overview

The TLE4906KHTSA1 is a high-precision unipolar Hall effect switch designed for automotive and industrial applications requiring reliable magnetic field detection. It features integrated temperature compensation and active error compensation to maintain stable switching points across a wide 2.7V to 18V supply range. The open-collector output is triggered by a South pole magnetic field, offering high immunity to mechanical stress and EMI.

Why Choose This Part

This sensor offers superior temperature stability and high ESD performance up to 6kV HBM. Its active error compensation eliminates the effects of mechanical stress on the silicon, while integrated reverse battery protection to -18V ensures durability in automotive electrical systems.

Applications

Automotive Seat Position Detection
Used to sense the position of seats for airbag deployment systems and power seat memory modules.
Industrial Speed Sensing
Ideal for tachometer applications and motor speed monitoring where low jitter (1us) and high frequency response are required.
Safety Interlocks
Provides non-contact position sensing for machine guards and door interlock systems in harsh environments.
Power Tool Trigger Sensing
Detects trigger position in cordless power tools while surviving high peak temperatures up to 195 degrees Celsius.

Getting Started

To evaluate this part, connect the VDD pin to a 2.7V to 18V supply and pull the open-collector output to the desired logic level via a resistor (typically 10k ohms). Ensure the magnetic South pole faces the branded side of the SC59 package to trigger the 13.5mT trip point. For prototyping, the TLE4906L (PG-SSO-3 package variant) may be easier for breadboard use than this surface-mount SC59 version.
