Overview

The TLE49641MXTSA1 is a high-precision unipolar Hall effect switch designed for position sensing applications where the south pole of a magnet is used for triggering. It operates over a wide voltage range of 3V to 32V and features integrated protection against reverse polarity, overcurrent, and overtemperature. This sensor is particularly robust, supporting automotive-grade temperature ranges up to 170 degrees Celsius and offering high magnetic threshold stability.

Why Choose This Part

This sensor eliminates the need for an external voltage regulator by supporting up to 42V overvoltage transients and -18V reverse polarity. It features active error compensation to minimize magnetic threshold drift and low jitter of typically 0.35 microseconds for precise timing applications. The PG-SOT23-3-15 package combined with high ESD performance ensures high reliability in space-constrained, electrically noisy environments.

Applications

Automotive Power Closures
Detecting end-stop positions in power windows, sunroofs, and trunk lids.
Index Counting
Rotational speed and position measurement in motors and gearboxes using a multi-pole ring magnet.
Industrial Limit Switching
Non-contact position sensing in harsh industrial environments where mechanical switches would fail.
White Goods
Door open/close detection and knob position sensing in high-temperature home appliances.

Getting Started

To evaluate this sensor, provide a supply voltage between 3V and 32V and connect a pull-up resistor to the open-drain output. The output will switch low when a South pole magnetic field exceeds the trip point (Bop) of 18 mT. For rapid prototyping, use a breadboard-friendly SOT-23 breakout board and ensure a 100nF decoupling capacitor is placed close to the VDD pin.
