Overview

The TLV7031DCKR is a nanopower, small-form-factor comparator designed for low-voltage applications where power consumption is a primary design constraint. Operating on as little as 335nA of quiescent current, it features a push-pull output stage and integrated 7mV hysteresis to ensure stable switching even with slow-moving input signals. This single-channel device supports rail-to-rail common-mode input voltages and operates down to 1.6V.

Why Choose This Part

The primary advantage is the exceptionally low 335nA quiescent current, which minimizes the impact on the system power budget. The integrated 7mV hysteresis and rail-to-rail input range simplify design by eliminating the need for external components and ensuring reliable performance across the full supply range from 1.6V to 6.5V. Its compact SC-70-5 package saves significant PCB area in space-constrained designs.

Applications

Battery-Powered IoT Nodes
Ideal for threshold detection and wake-up circuitry in ultra-low power wireless sensors.
Mobile Devices
Used in power-sensitive consumer electronics for battery monitoring and voltage level detection.
Portable Medical Equipment
Enables signal monitoring in handheld diagnostic tools while extending battery life.
Industrial Monitoring
Suitable for zero-crossing detection and window comparators in low-speed industrial control loops.

Getting Started

When prototyping, ensure adequate decoupling with a 0.1uF capacitor placed close to the VDD pin. Evaluation can be performed using the TLV7031EVM-703 evaluation module or by soldering the SC-70-5 package to a standard SOT-353 breakout board for breadboard use. Given the high impedance nature of nanopower circuits, keep input traces short to minimize noise pickup.
