Overview

The TPD4E1B06 is a four-channel, bi-directional ESD protection diode array designed for high-speed data interfaces. It provides IEC 61000-4-2 Level 4 transient protection with an ultra-low loading capacitance of 0.7pF per channel, ensuring signal integrity for high-bandwidth applications. Its sub-picoampere leakage current makes it ideal for battery-powered systems where power conservation is critical.

Why Choose This Part

This device offers an excellent balance of low clamping voltage and minimal parasitic capacitance (0.7pF), which prevents signal distortion in high-speed lines. Its bi-directional nature allows for protection of signals that swing above and below ground, while the 4-channel integration in a compact SC70 or SOT-5x3 package reduces PCB footprint.

Applications

USB 2.0 Interface Protection
Protects D+ and D- lines in USB 2.0 systems while maintaining signal quality at high speeds.
Ethernet Port Protection
Provides robust ESD shielding for differential pairs in networking equipment.
LVDS and SATA Lines
Guards high-speed differential signal paths in storage and display interfaces against static discharge.
Precision Analog Inputs
Utilizes ultra-low leakage (1nA typical) to protect sensitive sensor inputs without introducing significant measurement error.

Getting Started

When laying out the PCB, place the TPD4E1B06 as close to the physical connector as possible to minimize the inductance of the trace between the ESD source and the protection device. Ensure a low-impedance path to ground using multiple vias to the ground plane to effectively shunt transient currents. Avoid running sensitive signal traces between the diode and the connector to prevent bypass coupling.
