Overview

The TPM8837E-DF4R is a low-voltage H-bridge motor driver designed for driving one DC brush motor, a solenoid, or other inductive loads. It operates from a wide motor supply voltage of 2V to 11V and can deliver up to 1A of peak output current. With an ultra-low sleep current of 0.01uA, it is highly optimized for battery-powered consumer electronics and small-scale automation.

Why Choose This Part

The device features comprehensive integrated protection including over-current, thermal shutdown, and undervoltage lockout to ensure system reliability. Its tiny 2x2mm DFN package and extremely low 0.01uA standby current make it ideal for space-constrained, energy-sensitive applications. The PWM interface allows for simple speed and direction control from any standard microcontroller GPIO.

Applications

Electronic Smart Locks
Driving small DC gearmotors for deadbolt actuation with minimal standby power drain.
IP Surveillance Cameras
Controlling pan-tilt mechanisms or motorized IR-cut filters in compact security housings.
Battery-Powered Toys
Providing bidirectional control for small motors in handheld or remote-controlled devices.
Solenoid Control
Precise switching of low-voltage solenoids for fluid control or latching mechanisms.

Getting Started

To evaluate the TPM8837E, provide a logic supply (VCC) between 1.8V and 5.5V and a motor supply (VM) up to 11V. Apply PWM signals to the IN1 and IN2 pins to control motor speed and direction according to the logic table provided in the datasheet. Ensure the thermal pad of the 8-DFN package is soldered to a PCB ground plane to manage heat dissipation during continuous 1A operation.
