Overview

The TXB0104QWBQARQ1 is an automotive-qualified 4-bit bidirectional voltage-level translator featuring automatic direction sensing. It allows for seamless data transfer between devices operating at different voltage rails, supporting VCCA from 1.2V to 3.6V and VCCB from 1.65V to 5.5V. This AEC-Q100 qualified component is designed for push-pull CMOS outputs and supports data rates up to 100Mbps.

Why Choose This Part

The device eliminates the need for a direction-control signal, simplifying PCB routing and reducing MCU pin count. It includes wettable flanks for automated optical inspection (AOI) in high-reliability automotive manufacturing and features VCC isolation to ensure outputs are high-impedance when either supply is grounded.

Applications

Automotive ECU Interfacing
Translating logic levels between low-voltage microcontrollers and 5V automotive sensors or communication modules.
Infotainment Systems
Level shifting for high-speed serial interfaces between application processors and peripheral ICs.
Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS)
Signal conditioning and translation for sensor data lines in camera and radar subsystems.
I2C and 1-Wire Translation
Bi-directional level shifting for open-drain-like protocols, though optimized primarily for push-pull architectures.

Getting Started

Ensure that the VCCA supply voltage is always less than or equal to VCCB for proper operation. Decouple both power supply pins with 0.1uF capacitors and pull the Output Enable (OE) pin to GND during power-up to ensure high-impedance state until supplies are stable. For evaluation, use a WQFN-to-DIP breakout board or the TXB0104EVM evaluation module.
