Overview

The TXB0108QPWRQ1 is an automotive-qualified (AEC-Q100) 8-bit bidirectional voltage-level translator featuring auto-direction sensing. It enables seamless data communication between devices operating on different logic supply rails, ranging from 1.2V to 3.6V on Port A and 1.65V to 5.5V on Port B. This part is specifically designed for push-pull CMOS logic interfaces and includes VCC isolation to ensure high-impedance states during power-down.

Why Choose This Part

The auto-direction sensing capability eliminates the need for a DIR control signal, simplifying PCB routing and reducing MCU pin count. It features integrated 15kV ESD protection and Ioff circuitry for partial-power-down mode, preventing damaging backflow current when a subsystem is powered off.

Applications

Automotive Infotainment
Translating logic levels between 1.8V application processors and 3.3V or 5V peripheral controllers.
ADAS Sensor Fusion
Interfacing low-voltage CMOS sensors with standard 3.3V automotive microcontrollers.
Body Control Modules
Bridging legacy 5V signaling with modern low-power 1.8V or 2.5V MCU domains.
Portable Diagnostics
Managing multi-voltage logic levels in handheld automotive service tools with low quiescent current requirements.

Getting Started

Ensure that the VccA supply voltage is always less than or equal to VccB for proper operation. Decouple both supply pins with 0.1uF capacitors placed close to the TSSOP-20 package. For evaluation, use a TSSOP-20 breakout board or the TXB0108EVM evaluation module to verify signal integrity with your specific capacitive load.
