TITXS0104VRGYR
Overview
The TXS0104VRGYR is a 4-bit bidirectional voltage-level translator designed for interfacing logic devices operating at different supply voltages. It supports translation between 1.65V to 3.6V on the VCCA side and 2.3V to 5.5V on the VCCB side without the need for a direction-control signal. This device is particularly effective for open-drain applications like I2C but also supports push-pull CMOS outputs at data rates up to 24Mbps.
Why Choose This Part
The auto-direction sensing capability eliminates the need for a GPIO pin to control data flow, simplifying PCB routing and firmware. It features built-in ESD protection exceeding JESD 22 standards and requires no specific power-supply sequencing, making it robust in multi-rail systems. The VQFN package provides a compact 3.5mm by 3.5mm footprint with a 0.5mm pitch for space-constrained designs.

Getting Started
When integrating this part, ensure the VCCA supply is always less than or equal to the VCCB supply. Connect the Output Enable (OE) pin to VCCA through a pull-up resistor to ensure high-impedance state during power-up. For prototyping, look for TXS0104E breakout boards which use the same functional silicon in hobbyist-friendly packages.
