Overview

The US5781ESE-AAA-000-RE is a unipolar Hall effect switch designed for general purpose magnetic sensing applications. It features an open-drain output and operates from a 3.5V to 24V supply voltage. This sensor utilizes chopper-stabilized CMOS technology for reliable performance.

Why Choose This Part

This Hall effect switch offers low current consumption of 2.5mA, making it suitable for battery-powered applications. Its chopper-stabilized amplifier stage and dynamic offset cancellation system ensure stable switching characteristics over temperature and supply variations. The wide supply voltage range of 3.5V to 24V provides flexibility in design.

Applications

Position Sensing
Ideal for detecting the presence or absence of a magnetic field, enabling simple position sensing in various mechanical assemblies.
Limit Switching
Can be used as a non-contact limit switch in industrial automation, where physical contact is undesirable or impractical.
Door and Window Sensors
Suitable for security systems to detect the open/closed status of doors, windows, and other entry points.
Rotary Encoders
Can be integrated into basic rotary encoders for pulse generation, indicating rotational movement.
Proximity Detection
Used in various consumer and industrial products for proximity detection tasks where a magnetic target is present.

Getting Started

To get started, connect the VDD pin to a 3.5V to 24V power supply, GND to ground, and the open-drain output to a pull-up resistor (e.g., 10kOhm) connected to VDD. When a sufficient North pole magnetic field (15mT trip) is applied, the output will switch low. When the field is removed (3.5mT release), the output will switch high.
