VEML6040A3OG
Overview
The VEML6040A3OG is a high-accuracy RGBW color sensor that converts light intensity to digital 16-bit values via an I2C interface. It utilizes Vishay proprietary Filtron technology to achieve spectral sensitivity closely matching human eye responses across red, green, blue, and white channels.
Why Choose This Part
The sensor features excellent temperature compensation and a peak sensitivity of 0.005 lx per count, enabling operation under dark lens designs. Its Filtron technology provides best-in-class optical noise rejection and high linear dynamic range without needing external filters.
Applications
Getting Started
Interface the sensor via the I2C bus (address 0x10) and configure the integration time using the configuration register to balance sensitivity and speed. For rapid prototyping, use the VEML6040-SB sensor starter board or an Adafruit VEML6040 breakout board with standard Arduino libraries.
