Overview

The VL53L1-SATEL is an evaluation kit featuring two breakout boards for the VL53L1 FlightSense Time-of-Flight (ToF) sensor. This sensor provides accurate distance measurements up to 4 meters regardless of the target's reflectance or size by measuring the photon travel time. The modular PCB design allows users to snap off the sensor section to integrate a miniature breakout board into custom prototypes via a standard 2.8V to 5V supply.

Getting Started

Connect the VL53L1-SATEL to any MCU with an I2C interface and 3.3V or 5V logic. STMicroelectronics provides the X-CUBE-TOF1 software expansion for the STM32Cube ecosystem, which includes the necessary drivers and API examples to initialize the sensor and read distance data. For rapid testing, the board is compatible with the P-NUCLEO-53L1A1 expansion board system.
