6,477 in stock

Overview

The VL53L1CXV0FY/1 is a long-distance Time-of-Flight (ToF) laser-ranging sensor based on STMicroelectronics' FlightSense technology. It integrates a 940 nm Class 1 laser emitter, a SPAD receiving array, and an internal microcontroller to provide accurate distance measurements up to 4 meters regardless of target color or reflectance.

Why Choose This Part

The sensor features a programmable region of interest (ROI) and multizone operation, allowing for sophisticated spatial awareness and multi-object detection within a 27-degree field of view. It maintains high performance in high-ambient light environments and can be integrated behind dark cover glass for sleek industrial designs.

Applications

Service Robotics
Utilized for obstacle detection and wall following in vacuum robots and drones.
User Detection
Enables smart power management by detecting human presence to wake up or sleep laptops and monitors.
Industrial Automation
Ideal for bin-level sensing, proximity detection in assembly lines, and inventory management.
Camera Autofocus
Provides high-speed distance data to assist camera systems in low-light or low-contrast conditions.

Key Specifications

Output Type I2C
Sensing Distance 157.480" (4m)
Voltage - Supply 2.6V ~ 3.5V
Operating Temperature -20degC ~ 85degC

Getting Started

Start development with the X-NUCLEO-53L1A1 expansion board and the STSW-IMG007 software package for STM32. Design-in requires careful attention to the optical keep-out zone and I2C pull-up resistor selection for the 2.6V to 3.5V supply range.
