Overview

The WL1835MODGBMOCR is a fully integrated 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi and dual-mode Bluetooth 5.1 module designed for easy integration with TI Sitara processors and other application hosts. It combines 802.11b/g/n and Bluetooth/BLE functionality into a single 100-pin QFM package with integrated RF switches, power amplifiers, and power management. This module is pre-calibrated and FCC/IC/ETSI/TELEC certified to reduce development time and manufacturing complexity.

Why Choose This Part

The module eliminates the need for RF design expertise by integrating all necessary clocks, filters, and passives into a 13.3mm x 13.4mm footprint. It supports high-throughput 54Mbps data rates and features low-power modes down to 10uA in shutdown, making it suitable for battery-operated devices. The inclusion of dual-mode Bluetooth allows simultaneous support for classic Bluetooth and Bluetooth Low Energy devices.

Applications

Industrial IoT Gateways
Provides robust 2.4GHz Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity for bridging industrial sensors to cloud platforms.
Home Automation Systems
Enables multi-role concurrent Wi-Fi Direct and BLE operations for smart home hubs and control panels.
Wireless Audio Streaming
Utilizes the dedicated audio processor for SBC encoding and A2DP high-quality audio streaming at low power.
Point-of-Sale Terminals
Offers secure Bluetooth 5.1 connections and SDIO host interfacing for reliable mobile payment processing.

Getting Started

Developers should use the WL1835MODCOM8B evaluation board paired with a TI Sitara AM335x or AM437x development kit. Texas Instruments provides the WiLink 8 software stack and Linux drivers to simplify host integration via the 4-bit SDIO and UART interfaces. Ensure the power supply can handle peak TX currents up to 285mA at 2.9V to 4.8V.
