DSP Online Conference Update

Stephane BoucherAugust 24, 20204 comments

As I write this blog post (August 24th), the DSP Online Conference is exactly one month away and we are very happy and excited with the way things are shaping up.  There are currently 9 presentations confirmed and we are expecting at least three more to be added to the schedule in the next few days.

NOTE: The current schedule could still be modified so please check back often and update your calendar accordingly

I would like to thank all of you who already (or are about to) register for the conference.  Early registrations are key to the success of such events so thank you for your support.

If you haven't registered yet, you have until August 31st to benefit from getting a full conference pass for only $20 with the use of the promo code DSP2020.  If your budget is currently tight, maybe your company or school could help you with the registration fee?  Very often they will if you ask.

Here's how the conference is going to work.  If you look at the website, you'll notice that each presentation has been allocated its own 90 minutes time-slot; up to 60 minutes for the talk itself and up to 30 minutes for Q&As, for a maximum duration of 90 minutes per session.

Each talk will either be pre-recorded or presented live through a Zoom session.  The speakers are strongly encouraged to pre-record their talk to avoid common live-streaming pitfalls but we understand that some of our speakers will prefer to present live anyway.

Every talk, pre-recorded or not, will be followed by a live Q&A Zoom session with the speaker.

And every talk, pre-recorded or not, will be made available "on-demand" to all registered attendees for one full year after the "live" portion of the conference is over.  So if your schedule doesn't allow you to attend the conference on September 24-25, you can still register and watch all talks at the moment of your choice once the live conference is over.

Lastly, Certificates of Attendance will be made available to all attendees.  These are sometime useful for continuous education credits.

Please feel free to post comments or questions under this blog post and I hope to see you at the conference!

Stephane,

You have both of Fred Harris's talks listed with the same date/time and same title.  I think there should be two different date/times and titles.

Indeed!  Nice catch Neil, thanks.  Fortunately, the presentations are the right one on the conference's website.  I'll correct and update the promo image, thanks again.
