Flash Error

Started by sindhoor_hegde March 13, 2006
Hi all,

I am using PK-HCS12E128 development board and Codewarrior V3.1
evaluation version for developping a Virual EEPROM on the Flash.
I am facing a problem. Whenever i write in to the flash(i am using
0x5000 location)my debugger writes a single WORD in to the flash and
then it halts. In the Command window i see "unknown event" followed
by "halted". when i run the program again it writes in to the next
location and stops again and I get the same message in the command
window.
no Error flag is set. This is troubling me since long time.
Please help me to resolve this issue.
Thanks in advance for your time and advices.

It is not possible to read from the Flash block while it is being erased or

programmed (while CCIF bit isn't set). Data Compress and probably Erase
Verify commands also make flash unreadable for CCIF=0 time.

It's also not possible to read from the Flash while KEYACC bit is set.
CPU can't execute properly code from _flash block being programmed_ because
CPU can't read the code. For this reason you should execute parts or all of
your program-erase routines NOT from flash block you want to program. Use
RAM/EEPROM/another flash block/ or external memory .
