Hello, I heard that each HCS12 device has it's own device id ( or some code number / partnumber provided by the Motorola) during the manufacturing, which is embedded in the chip itself. I want to know where exactly these numbers located in the chip so that this number can be utilised in my application. Thanks, With Regards, Manjunatha T.R. The 16-bit PARTID register at 0x1A. Its values for a particular part are given in the Device Users Guide. In EB386D available on the Motorola web site, the general usage of PARTID and the MEMSIZ0:1 registers is explained. You may have most of the information you need in the MEMSIZ registers. I don't know of a method of keeping current on PARTID values other that repeatedly looking the Motorola web site. I guess you could try to get your incoming inspection to fail if you don't see a PARTID value you recognize, but that might cause too many crises.
