In a message dated 2/15/04 2:50:47 PM Eastern Standard Time, writes: Does anyone know wich is actually the best comiler asm /c and eventually c++ for HCs12 ======================================== When yoiu say 'best', I'll extrapolate that you mean: the c compiler is ansi compatible, and passes a test suite so you dont have to worry about finding bugs in the compiler, it has an easy to use ide so you dont have to learn the unix regular expression syntax to learn how to write makefiles, it is reasonably priced, even for a one man programming company, as compared to thousands of dollers per seat for some compilers, the generated code is reasonably efficient... that is, it makes optimizatiuons based on the target cpu architecture. Now you need to assign your importance factor to each item. Now obtain eval copies of gcc, icc12, iar, metroworks, and (what other compilers are there), install them all, use them for a while, summarize your results, and report back to this forum. We are all very interested in your results. I use imagecraft, Price is my number one criterion. I'm very poor. Furthermore, I dont know of any c++ compilers for hc12. I think there are a couple, tho... someone will tell s what they are.... |

Cosmic C compiler and atheist if you have the resources (money) for both. Regarding High Price compilers, why Cosmic and not IAR or Metrowerks ?
