What do they mean?

Hello everybody.

I am working with a Basicx-24 microcontroller in my project. I am
working with a keypad, I saw the program that Basicx-24 uses to
read keypad, it is working very well but I need to know What Do
DDRA, PORTA and PINA mean?. Sorry for this question maybe it is very
simple to you but I am learning with this microcontroller.

Looking forward to hearing from you, Yiwy

Operating_System_Reference.doc in the documentation lists all the
AT90S8535 special purpose registers.

DDRA: Data Direction Register, Port A
PINA: Input Pins, Port A
PORTA: Data Register, Port A

DDRA determines whether specific pins are inputs or outputs, PORTA is
used to set outputs, PINA is used to read inputs.
