Graphics lcd panel

Started by nuepatrick May 19, 2005
Hello all,

I just aquired this graphics lcd panel. The information on the back is
as follows:
convergent technologies
display board
MPD or MPO 300
REV2:1669

Does anybody know anything about this display? The schematic I have
showing that it is connected to a HD61830 LCD timing controller.

Could this thing be used with a bx35 to display information?

The LCD connector has the follwing labels

VCC
GND
D1: display data serial in upper
D2: display data serial in lower
CL1: display data shift clock for LCD drivers upper
CL2: display data shift clock for LCD drivers Lower
MB: signal for converting liquid crystal driving signal into AC,B type
FLM: frame signal for display sync
HIVOL
CPUOK/
Vo

It seems a wrong to just throw this thing in the garbage if it can be
used. Any ideas?

Thanks
Patrick

It should also have the standard LCD connector for DB0-8, RE, R/W, E,
/CS as well.

Here is the only datasheet I could find on the HD61830:
http://cn.renesas.com/media/products/lcd/discontinued_products/d_e830.pdf.
The interface looks very similar to the industry standard HD44780
controller.
