BX01 Reset Switch

Started by adriaanswan April 10, 2006
Hi,

I am busy designing a base board for the BX01. Several of these boards
will be networked together each with a specific function. The only
problem is I am limited to 100mm x 80mm, single sided for the PCB, and
thus I can not fit everything I would want on the board.

My question is about the Reset switch. Is it really necessary and if
not must PIN9 be connected to something, eg. GND or VCC?
You shouldn't have to have a reset switch. Left unconnected, it
should be fine, but if you're cautious, you could pull it high with a
pullup resistor. That might not even be necessary if there is an
internal pullup like the BX24.

My current design (with a BX24) has no reset switch, as there was no
place to put one. When a reset is needed, I simply cycle the power.
