"Capture to file" problem

Started by Yuli February 24, 2010
Dear all,

I'm trying to sample the reading of 4 ADCs (pin 13-16) every 5 sec and log them into my PC.

My program is edited from the standard ADCexample.bas. It does nothing but reads the 4 ADC ports. The 4 readings can be correctly displayed in the watch window. Then I went to the downloader "file\capture to file..." and created a txt file. The problem is: the txt file doesn't log any data, no matter if I keep it close or open it with notepad.

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Hello
We use the application "RS232 Data Logger", by Eltima Software in those
situations and it works great...

Hi David,

I think this should be a small configuration problem with the "capture to file" function. Maybe just some hint from you will make this work. I don't intent to use any third-party software at the moment.

Open the file with your program

Write the data

Close the file prior to ending program

Hi,
Try this.
Open capture to file with your file name example c:\point_data.dat
send data using the debug.print with the the point id that you want.
close capture to file

check the data in your file using notepad or word.

regards.
