Hi folks, I'm looking for a micro controller for an embedded project. I need for this project 3 UARTs and an external memory controller for 1MBytes (probably RAM) but a DSP is not necessary because I'll not have to deal with heavy calculations. I've found the Atmel SAM3U2C (http://www.atmel.com/dyn/products/product_card.asp?part_id=4566) which seems pretty good for what I want to do but the status is on 'Sampling', could anyone tell me more about its commercialization. The ST 32F101xC (http://www.st.com/mcu/devicedocs-STM32F101ZC-110.html) could also do the job but I'm a bit upset that the 'V' version could only manage Flash and PSRAM. Is PSRAM really obsolete? I'll keep searching with others manufacturers but if you have some advices or brand in mind please tell me. Cheers. I hear from the AT91 team, that Cortex-M3 does not excel when executing from external memory, and that the SAM7SE has higher bandwidth/throughput. Anyone seen this in their own system? I just don't want to start the developpement with this PSRAM if I can buy it anymore in 5 years. I'll plobably chose a ST 32F101xZ one and use some SRAM. I would take a look at the Cortex-M3 series from Luminary Micro. Do a quick search on their site and here is one of the devices can fulfill your need: http://www.luminarymicro.com/products/lm3s2793.html -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Embedded Professionals Your professionals in Embedded Electronics and Firmware Design Service info@embpros.com --------------------------------------- This message was sent using the comp.arch.embedded web interface on http://www.EmbeddedRelated.com
