Bluetooth clocking

Started by Vladimir Vassilevsky July 14, 2011
The Bluetooth stack supports for a 64kbps u-Law/A-Law channels for
telephony purpose. How does the clocking works in those channels?

I.e. which side of the Bluetooth link is a clock master and which is a
slave?

Is the clock master/slave selection application dependent or is it
defined in the protocol?

Many bluetooth modules provide I2S interface for direct connection to
audio codec. This interface can be configured either as a master or a
slave. How does the clocking work then? Is there a re-clocking somewhere
in the transmit or receive chain?
