Hey! You got any good articles with a compare/contrast of Cortex M0 vs. the M3 and M4? (And why isn't there an M1 or M2?). I kinda get the idea that the M0 is smaller and less capable, but still... -- My liberal friends think I'm a conservative kook. My conservative friends think I'm a liberal kook. Why am I not happy that they have found common ground? Tim Wescott, Communications, Control, Circuits & Software http://www.wescottdesign.com

It may not delve into the required level of detail (esp. if you're not familiar with any of the Cortex-M devices), but there's an overview on Wikipedia: <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ARM_Cortex-M> The Cortex-M1 is an FPGA-embeddable soft core, and I guess ARM haven't developed anything to fill the M2 slot yet. -a

- and yet still no data on their web, and this has only one solitary 32 bit timer. Why is it that some 32 bit vendors, are so slow to move to 32 bit timers ? -jg

There is a Cortex-M1! It is FPGA optimised rather than general purpose. Regards, Richard. + http://www.FreeRTOS.org + http://www.FreeRTOS.org/FreeRTOS-Plus Designed for Microcontrollers. More than 7000 downloads per month.

FreeRTOS has a port for this device already :o) Not in the official distribution yet but I will try and put up a web page for it as soon as I get a change. That's a good idea Tim - I'll work on that in the coming months!
