Any software, freeware that can be purchased that can operate using instrument type graphics. For example on the large comercial aircraft they use just one display screen using graphics to show fuel levels, voltage readings, data of engine performance. Is there software around that can read the RS232 port and show a analog meter on the screen like a digital meter, instead of using a oscilliscope or meters the computer acts like all these different instruments. Of course a interface would be needed but just trying to find a high end graphics read out of data coming into the RS 232 port has not been impossible. Is one best of wrinting there own visual basic software. Iam using a embedded ICP Wafer 5820 cpu 266 mhz 128 mb ram, windows 98. Thanks Robert

Hi Rober, Tilcon Software offers an excellent solution for exactly what you describe. Have a look at the two demos- Automotive and Full. You can have a look at www.tilcon.com.
