Digilent's Nexys

Started by Manuel Toledo Quinones March 28, 2007
Hi,

I want to introduce myself as new member of the list, and take
advantage of the opportunity to ask a question about Digilent's Nexys
Spartan 3 board. I purchase the 1000k gate version. I would like to
use the off-chip memory and tough that a good place to start was the
build-in self test sources that the company provide in their web site.
However, I get error when I try to re-synthesize the source. The
errors are related to unrouted signals. I contacted the company but
haven't receive an answer. I am using version 8.1.0.3 of Xilinx's ISE.

Is anyone using this board? Have you been able to use the bist source?

Thanks,

Manuel

I also have a 3s1000 version of this board. Very compact indeed.

I have version 8.2.03i of the Xilinx Webpack software this end.

Several of the files in the Nexys_Bist archive had their "read_only"
status bit set which Webpack complained about at this end.

I changed the target type to xC3s1000-5ft256 and did nothing else to
any of the source files.

There were a fair few warnings (390 total), but it went all the way
through to generating a programming file.

Could you be more specific about the "errors" you received?

Cheers,
Leslie

I also have one of the S3-1000 nexys boards this end.

I had no problems compiling the Bist_Nexys demo this end, though I am
using 8.2.03i . There were a fair number of warnings however (390).

Only change I made to the source was to change the FPGA type to the
S3-1000 variety.

Could you be more specific about the errors you received?

Leslie

They come in 200, 400, or 1000 die versions from digilent.

http://www.digilentinc.com/Products/Detail.cfm?Prod=NEXYS

After you hit the "Add to cart" button, you are presented with a choice
of which board you wish to purchase.

I have NO association with them by the way.

Cheers,
Leslie
Hello to all.
I can only see 200k and 400k versions of the board...

I wish that the 1000k board still was available.

They're likely just out of stock of the larger part.
Try again later.

It's back! I am looking at the order page and the 1000die version is
available again.
