Actually, it doesn't seem to help at all.

Those are the limits of my ad hoc research on the matter. The best
way to do it seems to me to be to make use of a macro assembler for
almost any microprocessor, and write a set of sixteen or so macros for
the sixteen instructions. You then write the code - that's it!

This is the technique I use to write code for state machines, which is
almost the same requirement.

Hint: I don't suggest you attempt to locate a "C++" compiler for it.
