Eclipse/GNU Errors

Started by Richard September 12, 2006
I have setup my Eclipse/GNU toolchain using the Lynch tutorial. It
assembles, compiles and links fine but then I get a series of windows
error messages:

cc1.exe application error

The instruction at 0x..... referenced memory at 0x.... The memory
could not be "read" etc etc

Any ideas?

Do you have a Logitech camera?

There are problems with Cygwin and the latest Logitech camera software
(If my memory is correct it is anything greater than version 8). If
you are getting fork or memory access errors then you need to look for
a service called "Logitech Process Monitor". Stop in and disable the
service and you should not get the errors. Your camera will still work
but features such as avatars will not be available (not a big deal for
the majority of people).

I hope this helps.

I have traced the problem to WinAVR which is also installed on the
system and uses Cygnus.
