Using the same pin of LPC2294 for two peripherals

Started by arm_techie arm_user April 28, 2007
Hi all,
I am using LPC2294 for one of my application. Is it possible for me
to use the same pin for more than one function. In other words, Can I use
the UART pins for PWM?

Uh, yeah... You could, but not simultaneously.

As far as I know it is not even possible to use an input for multiple
functions at the same time.

A good example is that you cannot read the state of a timer capture pin
because the timer does not support this and the GPIO does not receive
the input signal if it is mapped to the timer capture function. Don't
know if NXP has solved this or will solve this in newer versions of the
LPC silicon.
