LPC2368 UART Query

Started by Kiran February 6, 2008
Hi,

It is regarding UART in the LPC2368.
UART1 has full modem control pins.

If UART1 is enabled & only Tx, Rx, CTS & RTS are used for UART communications,
whether remaining pins (RI, DCD etc.) can be used for other application (as port pin)?

Kiran

Thanks,

I need 4-UART ports, with Tx, Rx, CTS & RTS.

what may be the pin combination in the LPC2368?

Regards,
Kiran

no you cann't use like this. uart terminal can be used for single
application at a time.
Yes you can use the remaining pins of UART1 to be GPIO by configuring
them through PINSEL Register.

It would be more easy to use GPIO for CTS/RTS for all the UARTS as
that will make a common code base instead of handling the
UART1 CTS/RTS separately through dedicated modem pins.
