LPC2103 and HD44780 based LCD

Started by Lucas Caldoncelli Rodrigues February 25, 2008
Hello!

I'm using a HD44780 based LCD with a LPC2103.
The LCD power supply is 5V and Output I/O values of LPC2103 are 3.3V .

Reading about this LCD, the Input "high" voltage is 2.2v min, so it is
tolerant. But somehow, all of a sudden, the LCD lose its Synchronism and
shows strange characters or just turn off characters.

If I execute the startup routine again, LCD comes back to normal.
The interface with the uC is 4-bit mode.

I allready re-writed the routines and used other people routines to
control the LCD but without success.

Can anyone helpme?

Best Regards
Lucas

Works like charm on my LPC2136, please ensure that on display,
1. WRT line is grounded.
2. There is a small delay in ENABLE strobe.
3. RS line is DATA mode.
