UART1 garbage

Started by thummel26 March 16, 2008
Hey guys, im using the lpc2129 with uart1 and 0 interfaced through a
max232. Uart0 works ok with phillips isp, but when i print to UART1 i
get garbage. Real terminal says its framing error. Any suggestions, i
have tried playing with baud rate, parity, stop bits, etc.

Well, UART1 does work - I'm using it!

Framing error is an apparently missing stop bit. This can be due to
'stop bits' being set inappropriately, but it's more likely that your
baud rate is wrong - check your calcs for divisor etc.

When you play with baud rate, parity, stop bits, etc, does the
characteristics of the garbage change?

You could send a string of AA's and look at the tx signal with a scope
to check protocol, bit timings etc.
