Can I have some support here? I already posted about troubles that I'm having with CrossStudio and up to now NOTHING! Can anyone help me?

I'm creating an applicaton where I must load some small code in a fixed section of the Flash (including startup and the VIC_irq_handler routines). After that, the first function (starting at a specific location) must be the main().

IF anyone answers, then I post more info. Since it seems unlikely, then I'll start cursing this IDE...

An Engineer's Guide to the LPC2100 Series

Hi

I do not use CrossStudio but I use IAR Kickstart, Yagarto
They are all free to use and I suggest that you use dev tools that
thew group uses most so that you can deal with LPC2000 problems

Jean-Jacques

Have you asked Rowley?

Leon
Luiz ,
We are using Crossworks here and had no problems getting an app up and
running. We have found this IDE to be very good for the money spent. We have
two commercial seats. Support is thru their webpage, no email. That has been
a rub for us too.
I will try to help so, what seems to be the issue with your app? Did you
start by downloading a chip support package? Did you create your app using
the wizard?

Thanks Jean-Jacques,
Unfortunately, my code will become much more larger than the free license for IAR (32k).

Leon,
The answer from them is: Look at the forum (this forum).

Michael Freeman,
Yes, I'm using the packet for LPC2368 and created the workspace using the wizard.

When I remove my sections, the problem disappears. The only catch is that the sections are needed to create a firmware update routine.

Luiz,
Are you trying to run code from RAM or are you jumping into ISP code?

Nobody here is obliged to provide you with support - but presuming you have
a license for their tools, Rowley are. Did you ask them? Their have an
excellent reputation for providing support.

Yes - please post more info about your requirement/design/implementation.

I have used Rowley Crossworks to develop both the main app and a
secondary bootloader that runs at reset, can load from an SD card, and
then transfer execution to, one of two banks of main app, depending on
the version numbers and/or user input to the bootloader. I have no
serious problem with the the IDE, compiler, linker or ctl OS. I had
one critical problem with the startup.s in thumb mode: C++
constructors failed. This problem was sorted by Rowley almost
immediately and, in fact, had already been fixed in the latest
release, (to which I had not upgraded).

I haven't had any big problem locating/loading/running either of my
two banks of main code. There were bugs, sure, but not anything I
hadn't screwed up myself.

I have to admit that I have no code in the bootloader that is called
from the main app. I could have done that via a software interrupt,
but I thought this too dangerous since bugs in the boot code routines
could not be fixed without a JTAG/ISP code load in the field -
something I desperately wanted to avoid.

Rgds,
Martin
