MBED Module based on ARM7 NXP evaluation

Hi everybody,

I would like to use this module : MBED Module based on ARM7 NXP from hitex : http://www.hitex.com/index.php?id90&L=1
does someone use this module?
any advice is welcome

MBED is new (announced this week) so you aren't going to find lots of people that have used it. HOWEVER... if you are new to the embedded world, or want to "step up" from AVRs, PICs, etc. to 32-bit ARM then MBED is simply THE best option for getting started.

I've seen live demos and attended presentations on MBED and I'm really impressed with it. I seriously don't think you will find a simpler approach for embedded development for newbies.

I should have added... I think MBED modules are using ARM Cortex-M3 micros (NXP LPC1768 is first?). Use of Cortex-M3 instead of ARM7 provides some key advantages for simplifying embedded development.

Espardino http://www.espardino.com follows the same approach, the
differencecomes
from the SDK.

Espardino offers a GCC based SDK that you can install in your computer and
build your programs offline, while mbed does it online. :-)

Thanks for your quick responses
I currently work with LPC2378 on the MBC23000 board. but mbed or Espardino are attractive for their seize!!!
Now, the online compilation of mbed don't attract me because I don't have more experience in C!!! however, if this concept work well, it can be very useful for developpement (no soft cost,....)
I will buy these two types of solutions and test them!!
I will keep you inform

Hi,

Hitex is one source, Digikey another or if your connections to NXP are good, may be that is the best source.
The link to Hitex get's me to a getting started Manual that talks about XC167 (after all Hitex is owned by Infineon) and STR9 but nothing about LPC1768!?!? Hey guys at Hitex, update required!!

One question that come to mind, why in the world is there is limit to 60 MHz?? as mentioned here: http://www.hitex.co.uk/shop/index1.html We want to evaluate the performance of the LPC1768, not a device running with brakes on. Just a tipo?
