Hello, As a university homework, I must design a gas sensor system and, of course, I'll use a MSP430! The sensors can be of any type of gas, but after a few hour in Google, I can't find a place to buy them, only ready-to-use products. Took a look at distributors like Farnell also, with no return. Does anyone knows where can I buy these? They must be cheap and sold in quantities of 1~2, but don't need precision. Thanks in advance, Eric Cruz

You could go for a calorimetric gas density sensor. The idea is to build a wheatstone bridge type of circuit with PT100 and PT1000 type RTDs in the bottom legs. Once the circuit gets enough current for the PT100 to self heat, the balance of the circuit will become very sensitive to air movement. It will also be sensitive to changes in thermal conductivity at no flow, which is more or less related to gas density. Humidity has become very common lately, try google. They must be cheap and Farnell do have some oxygen sensors, but not low cost. Elfa (www.elfa.se/en) do have some relatively cheap ~10 Euro gas sensors. Thanks a lot for everyone's help, now I have a lot of sources for
sensors,
and I'll put as much as I can pay or have enough time to implement!!!

Hello Anyone know of any small exhaled Nitric Oxide (eNO) sensor suitable to use with an MSP? I did google and found some that arent suitable for a portable design. Hello, The only sensor I found that could be suitable for you is the TGS2201, from Figaro (http://www.figarosensor.com/gaslist.html). I hope this one fits your needs, Eric Cruz At 09:23 3/4/2005, you wrote: >Hello > >Anyone know of any small exhaled Nitric Oxide (eNO) sensor suitable >to use with an MSP? > >I did google and found some that arent suitable for a portable design. > >Thanks >Jay > > >--- In msp430@msp4..., Eric Schinkoeth Reis Barbosa da Cruz ><ericcruz@c...> wrote: > > Thanks a lot for everyone's help, now I have a lot of sources for >sensors, > > and I'll put as much as I can pay or have enough time to >implement!!! > > > > Eric Cruz > > > > > > At 16:39 10/3/2005, you wrote: > > > > >Take a look at: > > >http://www.diltronic.com/gaz1.htm > > >http://www.imm.cnm.csic.es/sensores/esen-met.htm > > >http://e2vtechnologies.com/introduction/prod_gassens.htm > > > > > >-Augusto > > > > > > > > >-----Original Message----- > > >From: Eric Schinkoeth Reis Barbosa da Cruz [mailto:ericcruz@c...] > > >Sent: Thursday, March 10, 2005 8:31 AM > > >To: msp430@msp4... > > >Subject: [msp430] Gas Sensors > > > > > > > > > > > >Hello, > > > > > > As a university homework, I must design a gas sensor >system and, of > > >course, I'll use a MSP430! Thanks Eric, Apart from the operating voltage the sensor seems to suitable. Meanwhile I did also come across this:- http://www.alphasense.com/Product%20page/Products/Nitric%20Oxide/NO% 20A%20&%20B/NO%20A&B%20Divider.htm Regds Jay --- In msp430@msp4..., Eric Schinkoeth Reis Barbosa da Cruz <ericcruz@g...> wrote: > Hello, > > The only sensor I found that could be suitable for you is the TGS2201, from > Figaro (http://www.figarosensor.com/gaslist.html). > > I hope this one fits your needs, > > Eric Cruz > > > > > > At 09:23 3/4/2005, you wrote: > > > >Hello > > > >Anyone know of any small exhaled Nitric Oxide (eNO) sensor suitable > >to use with an MSP? > > > >I did google and found some that arent suitable for a portable design. > > > >Thanks > >Jay > > > > > >--- In msp430@msp4..., Eric Schinkoeth Reis Barbosa da Cruz > ><ericcruz@c...> wrote: > > > Thanks a lot for everyone's help, now I have a lot of sources for > >sensors, > > > and I'll put as much as I can pay or have enough time to > >implement!!! > > > > > > Eric Cruz > > > > > > > > > At 16:39 10/3/2005, you wrote: > > > > > > >Take a look at: > > > >http://www.diltronic.com/gaz1.htm > > > >http://www.imm.cnm.csic.es/sensores/esen-met.htm > > > >http://e2vtechnologies.com/introduction/prod_gassens.htm > > > > > > > >-Augusto > > > > > > > > > > > >-----Original Message----- > > > >From: Eric Schinkoeth Reis Barbosa da Cruz [mailto:ericcruz@c...] > > > >Sent: Thursday, March 10, 2005 8:31 AM > > > >To: msp430@msp4... > > > >Subject: [msp430] Gas Sensors > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > >Hello, > > > > > > > > As a university homework, I must design a gas sensor > >system and, of > > > >course, I'll use a MSP430!
