Hello. How can I use the information memory of a F413 within IAR. I haven't found anything in IAR's help or searching through this forum. Does anyone know of a fuse blower schematic (except mspfet.helios.biz wich is dead) and/or a program that I could use in that matter. I really need to protect some chips and I don't have the cash to buy a professional programmer. I already have a MSP-FET and a homebrew BSL but i don't think I can use these to burn fuses. Thank you.
IAR info memory && fuse blower.

Alain, > Hmm, I guess no one uses information memory in IAR. > What about the fuse blower....? Try a PRGS430 or GANG430 or USBP Pro or FET430UIF or Elprotronic FPA or Segger J-Link 430 or... I'm not sure if there is a "free" one around much less one that's capable of being driven by any software. > Someone..., anyone... > > Yahoo groups really (REALLY) suck. E-mail interface is just what I require and I'm happy with them. phpBBS is too prone to attack and is a common target (witness the AVR Freaks outages). -- Paul Curtis, Rowley Associates Ltd http://www.rowley.co.uk CrossWorks for MSP430, ARM, AVR and now MAXQ processors

Lots of us use it, I don't use IARs compiler though. In assembler its
simple, but you are not very clear with your question, hence most people
left it alone. Do you want to write information memory during operation,
or simply store data there? If you just want to store data there you
only need to declare and initialise that data using your compilers
syntax for fixing a memory location. If you want to write during
operation then Ti has an app note on this. If it were assembler I'd give
you samples.
Cheers

I use the Elprotronic USB-MSP430-FPA. it wasn't expensive, as I recall, and the SW isn't too bad... hey, it's worked for about 3000 units and it was used in development. I don't know your situation, but roll-your-own tends not to be very cost effective. from their website (www.elprotronic.com) FlashPro430 (USB-MSP430-FPA)Includes USB-MSP430-FPA-2.x adapter and FlashPro430 software USB-MSP430-FPA-STD JTAG & BSL Standard Software Version $293US USB-MSP430-FPA-LJB Lite-JTAG & BSL Software Version $215US USB-MSP430-FPA-LJ Lite-JTAG Software Version $180US USB-MSP430-FPA-UNIV JTAG & BSL Standard Version - University Program $206US so ~$200US should get you a system that will do what you want it to do. What I meant was that I have't found any (none, nada ) reference about information memory in IAR's help. I think there has to be a #pragma directive or a keyword (something like const, info) but I haven't seen nothing yet (maybe i'm getting old :) ). Thank you for your answer(s). --- In msp430@msp4..., Rachel Adamec <adamec.rachel@v...> wrote: > > >From: alain_deloc <alain_deloc@y...> > >Subject: [msp430] Re: IAR info memory && fuse blower. > > >Hmm, I guess no one uses information memory in IAR. > >What about the fuse blower....? > >Someone..., anyone... > > > >Yahoo groups really (REALLY) suck. You won't get this in IAR, it is a technical feature of the chip. Look
in the technical data sheets and user guide. they will give you the
memory address. Then look in the reference for the compiler to find out
how to make an address fixed in IAR.
