IAR, Embedded Workbench

Started by wish_akuze wish_akuze March 22, 2006
Hello

I would like to ask, how do you pronounce "IAR" ? do you spell all
these letters or it sounds more like "ear". Sorry if this question is
too stupid but i hope someone can give me an answer at least! By the way does
IAR stand for "Interactive Agent Reporting "?

thanks

Yes, you basically spell it out -- preferably shouting, standing on one
leg...

It sounds better in swedish that it does in english. On the other hand,
our french distributor isn't too happy, caliming that i-a-r in french
sounds like he is clearing his throat...

Once upon a time the letters did stand for something, but they don't any
more...

in spanish it does not sound that well also, is something like

eeh -- aahh -- ehrreh

I guess you can spell it the way you want... and about its meaning, in
respect to the meaning, I guess is the name of someone in swedish, who
know.... or maybe International Army Recruit, but I don't think so ;)

for "IAR", see:

spanish seems to be problematic for company names, we learnt that
ours means "ugly" in spanish... (the founder however was thinking of
the rune for "wealth" ;-)
