ERASE a device through IAR?

Started by Darren Logan February 19, 2008
Hi,

Using IAR (V4.10A), is it possible to simply erase a micro?

I.e. JUST erase (no programming of code).

Thanks.

Darren

Do not know why you want to do that. Do not know how to do that
properly either. But here is a makeshift way to do it.

Create a Assembly only project with:
ORG 0xFFBE
DW 0xFFFF
END

Hi Darren,

Download the MSPFET program from " http://kurt. on.ufanet.ru/". It real
simple to use and its free. It works with either the TI parallel or
USB adpaters and even the Olimex adapter if the proper MSP430.DLL and
HIL.DLL are used.
It also supports a command-line interface if you don't want to run
the GUI. Look under the Help menu for the command line options.

I've used it for production programming through a batch file in this
way.

Regards,

Gene
