hey guys. i'm new in msp430fg4618. can anyone mind teach me how to start
using this microcontroller cause i'm having a final year project which

Find your chip and download the example code(MSP430F461x) . I would
recommend notepad++ to look at these, it is a lot better than your
normal notepad ^^.

TI has loads of examples that you can download, in both C and assembler,
including ones for flashing an LED.

If you're in your final year and haven't yet figured out how to light
a
LED with ANY microcontroller then I'd give up electronics, it is a VERY
simple case of reading 3 documents, the technical data sheet and the
family user guide, and perhaps the IAR user guide, although IAR is
mostly quite intuitive. Then download some code from the web site, in
fact a LED flasher example comes with the IAR kickstart.

The professors should put on the internet a sample program that works,
but has some "hidden" indication that it was lifted AS IS without any
modifications.
If the students turn in the AS IS version, they should get a FAIL grade.

scroll by for "do my work." At this point, my profession is Nursing, but
I did have nearly two decades experience as a successful systems
engineer. I assumed it was my job to read, lurk, experiment as much as
possible, all of which I believe facilitates the learning process.
Questions were, hopefully, succinct, and held back until I'd done my own
homework/research. I find the lack of curiosity on the part of these
students somewhat distressing. I certainly hope they are the
exception...

That's easy. Every program I ship has my name, DoB, army number and
British National Insurance number embedded into it, but encrypted, and
it is real working code. Better than copyright declarations in the
source. I've been doing that for years.
