Simplest remote control using pic

hi all

Actually in my project i have PIC pcb board which controls motors for X-Y table.....i have to manually turn on one button in pic board to start the process.....what i want is remote control...simplest remote control which jst turn ON one pin of pic so that rest of motion control can start.....jst a kind of enable and disable remote control to pic board ...50 ft range is ok......i have no experience with remote control...please guide me(which ic chips etc) and if possible send me the URL links from where i can learn about it ,starting from basics ...

You need an IR receiver like SFH5110 from Infineon, I'm sure there are
plenty clones in Korea. And a transmitter with center modulated frequency
on the middle of the receiver characteristic. (36 to 38 KHz).
It will works up to 15m. Please transform yourself from meters to feets.

Hi,
i have make so a project with RF 433 Mhz system. it have 8 channel and i can control it whit 8 buton. the rage was be 100 meter. i have use 16f628 for transmitter and receiver.
