ZIF 18 to ZIF 40 adapter

Started by ydexter April 11, 2003
Hello!

I asambled the JDM programmer and as you know it is with ZIF18 socket
in original form. Now I saw here that JDM can programm the 16F877
model. But I'm not sure how to wire the pind to the ZIF40 socket. Of
course, I can respect the names, but what should I do with the rest 0f
40-18" remaining pins?
Do you have a link with this adapter?
Thanks

there is a solution which let you use *any* supported PIC by the
programmer without using any ZIF socket. This is called ICSP
= in circuit serial programming. This is telling you that you can even
to solder a blank PIC in your circuit and then to program it as you wish.
The only restriction you have is to keep enough high the clk and data
impedances.
So you don't need an expensive ZIF socket as I don't need either...
The only thing you need is a 5 pin inline 2.54mm socket: Vcc, Vpp, GND,
CLK, SDA. With this socket you can connect your programmer with your
breadboard, experimental pcb, etc...

smart ?

top 10 wishes,
