fast ADC

Started by mutluuslu February 28, 2005

hi to everyone,
i'm looking for a microcontroller having a fast ADC rate for my
SMPS design having 50 kHz switching frequency. i don't mind in using
dsp or a discrete ADC IC for this purpose.
thanx a lot for your advices...

Define "fast" please.

=====
My software has no bugs, only undocumented features.

For my application ADC rate of 1Msps will be enough. Since my code
won't be much complex, i wouldn't prefer DSP. thanx...

i want for my application at least 1 microseconds of A/D
conversion time; thanx...

I am partial to Maxim and Analog Devices in this area. Maxim is
probably your best bet these days. They can both be pricey and/or hard
to get.

Here is a selector table for Maxim:

and Analog devices:

thanks Chad, but i want to use a microcontroller having a fast ADC
module inside. i don't want use a separate A/D converter IC. --- In , Chad Russel <chadrussel@y...> wrote:

ADI does make MCUs with ADCs. They have both 8051 and ARM7 cores.

Philips also has some nice ARM chips, also with A/D. But 1us A/D time is
very fast, the Philips chips reach 2.4us for 10 bits.

which is your requirement ?

which is your wish-list ?

your posts contradict each other.

external are faster and more accurate.
