Dear Group, It is multisite product development. The other team is using Trace32 debugger with the 68HCS12 target hardware and Cosmic compiler. At our site we are using Trace32 Simulator for 68HCS12 to execute our code. We do not have real target hardware and Trace32 debugger, but we are supposed to execute/debug the code on Trace32 Simulator. At the moment, we have a problem while ru...

Hi, I am new in this site and I am a beginner in programming 68HC12 microprocessor. I would like to ask from the expert on this to give me an example on how to transmit and receive data from PC to mcu and vice versa using COMM Port(preferably in Assembly coz I am using AxIDE to compile it). Thanks, Felix II

Hello, I have some designs using the MC9S12A128B controller. Up until now these boards have been stuffed with MC9S12A128B but in the latest batch, MC9S12A128 (without B) has been used. My problem is that I can no longer program it with my evaluation board (EVB Elektronik 9S12 256 Model 112 made by Elexsys) using D- bug 12 V4.0.0b15 in BDM pod mode. The chip can be erased using "fbulk"...

Hello, We are working on a board with a S12DJ64 CPU. Till now, we have been able to work in the 'normal memory space' using only up to 32k for code. Now, adding new functions, we would like to use the paged memory area to get more space. We use WINIdea with Cosmic compiler (and linker), with BDM link to board. I've configured the source files, compiler and linker to get correct .map fil...

Over the past coupld of years that I have been checking out the list each day I have asked about any freely available/open source hardware programmer/debugger designs, and here it is again. There has been a couple of hits but nothing yetthat has jumped out at me. I would love to build something similar to the P&E parallel port debugger, nice and easy. I have taken apart a couple, one for PPC and ...

Hi All I have just published a tutorial showing how to add an EEPROM to the SPI of the HCS12 (with diagrams and photos of the adapter for typical EVB and DEMO boards) for use as an external file system - it is specifically for the NE64 to increase the program code space to 64k while still allowing web pages (up to 64k) to be served from simple and cheap external memory. http://www....

When you implement the built-in security feature on the DP256B mask 1K79x running Normal Single Chip mode, you cannot erase and write EEPROM and flash on the device. (From Freescale ERRATA MUCts00603 and MUCts00604.) We need to be able to reprogram the MCU while in the field. In order to do this, our firmware update PC tool launches the Bootloader on the MCU, unsecures the device using t...

I am having trouble integrating an encoder into my code for a MC9S12D64. I am using ICC12 and am using a combination of C and assembly. I have tried using a timer interrupt with a table lookup and have got less than adequate results. Ie < 20 Hz I am looking to get a quadrature encoder input of approx 2Khz. My question is will a HCTL 2020 or equivalent using a PWM output (8Mhz CPU CLK) fro
